Photo group 1 had the theme of ‘Sound and Smell’ during November. Although it was not necessarily the easiest of challenges the members still managed a good number of images. A limit of three images per member had been set, to give more opportunity for critique and that worked well, with a decent discussion taking place about most of the images.

You can see the ‘Sound and Smell’ gallery here. There were also a few additions to the ‘Favourites’ gallery, which can be seen here.

Before reviewing this month’s images, members were given a recap by Ian Homewood of the ‘Controlling Exposure’ talk, first presented just before lockdown. This followed the recap by Julie Pigula of the ‘Composition’ presentation last month and will be followed up in a couple of months by a talk about simple but effective editing techniques.

Next month’s theme is simply ‘Christmas’, so we are expecting a wide variety of images. The challenge, as always, is to think about the photographs and make them interesting. We will also be treated to a talk about underwater photography, given by member Steve Birchall.
