Guess The Object – Photo Group 1

guess the object - Southport u3a photo group 1

The Photo 1 theme for January was Guess The Object. The aim of the challenge was to photograph familiar objects from angles and distances which would leave the viewers trying to work out what they were.

As usual, the members rose to the challenge and we all had great fun trying to guess them at our monthly meeting this morning. The thumbnail here is about the only one I managed to guess, but if you want to know what they are you will have to wait for the next magazine to be available.

In addition to reviewing the photos from the monthly challenge, the group were given a presentation entitled ‘HDR – What it is and when to use it’. HDR (Hgh Dynamic Range) is a technique which became very popular about 15 years ago. Advances in camera capabilities and an undeserved bad reputation, caused by over use, has led to it being less widely used now. There are still occasions though when it can come in very handy if you know what it is and how to use it.
