The hard work put in by our Gardening Group members has paid off in style. In the judging at the Southport Flower Show, the Southport u3a show garden won not just one, but two awards!
The garden won a ‘Large Gold Medal’ award in the ‘Charity/Community Garden’ section and also ‘The Brian Aughton Memorial Trophy’ for ‘Best Use Of Plants In A Display’.
To say that the ladies were thrilled is somewhat of an understatement! Apparently the screams of joy were heard in New Brighton!
Needless to say, they calmed down im time to be interviewed by BBC Radio Merseyside and Granada Reports.
A massive congratulations to all involved, they have certainly put Southport u3a on the map!
