Bees in Gardening

Bees

At the Gardening Group October meeting, u3a member Francine Sagar gave us a fascinating talk about the life of bees.

These hard-working insects produce honey, pollen, royal jelly, beeswax, propolis, and venom – all collected and used by people for various nutritional and medicinal purposes.

Francine has been keeping bees for twenty years and was happy to share her extensive knowledge, it was such a very  interesting talk and we all really enjoyed it. She also brought some of her bee products to sell, delicious Ainsdale honey, a selection of beeswax candles & beeswax food wrappers. She was soon sold out but can take orders for any more of these items, which would make lovely and unique Christmas presents.

Thank you Francine and we loved your Bee top!
