Coach Trip to Buxton

Coach trip to Buxton

On Monday 5th September 2022 the coach trip group had an enjoyable day in the elegant town of Buxton which stands 1,000 feet above sea level and is the highest market town in England. It is also reported to be the centre of England.  The nearby stone circle of Arbor Low is believed by some to be the exact centre of the country.

The mineral waters have long been famous; they were used by the Romans, who called the place Aquae Arnemetiae.

There was plenty of attractions to explore including the Poole’s Cavern, The Devonshire Dome – reported to be the largest in Europe, The Opera House, The Georgian crescent and a stroll in Pavilion gardens. A number of members had booked ‘a journey back in time tour’ to experience a bygone age aboard a Victorian tram with a guide showing the historic and architectural gems.

If you would like to know more about the coach trip group please get in touch with the leader via their group page.
