Southport u3a Chair, Chris, presented an Atkinson voucher to Liz and Keith Rea as a thank-you for them managing the Southport u3a Book Desk at the monthly meetings.
Liz and Keith have been managing the desk for the last five years and providing us all with a variety of books for only 50p!! In fact during their time they have actually raised a very large amount for u3a funds – all those 50p’s soon add up!!
In the early days of their tenure they actually ran the book desk from their garden as a way of continuing the service during covid. Next month’s meeting will be their last before passing the Southport u3a Book Desk baton on to a new couple. We all send them a big thank you.
