The theme for the Photo 1 monthly challenge in August was Minimalist photography. Our members showed their normal variation in interpretations and there was some lively debate at the meeting, when the submissions were reviewed. The theme was designed to make us think about what we were photographing and it seems to have worked. You can see the results in the gallery.
The group had several new members this month and I think (hope) they enjoyed the debates and banter. We look forward to seeing them back for more.
With the difficulty in organising field trips, the group has decided to try out ‘DIY field trips’, which is nothing more than using the group events page to let group members know when one or more of our members are off somewhere to do a bit of photography. Hopefully that will give more opportunities to get together.
The group theme for September is ‘Perspectives’, either geometric or conceptual, that should lead to an interesting meeting next month.
