On Wednesday 13th of March, a group of walkers from Walking Group 4 visited Tatton Park in Cheshire, for a winter’s walk.
The walk started at the Knutsford entrance, alongside the very large Tatton Mere, then progressed into the Millennium Wood and onto the Airborne parachute Memorial. The Parachute regiment trained at Tatton park from 1940 to 1945.
The highlight of the walk came when we discovered the memorial was blocked by over 300 deer having their Carrot lunch!
We then set off to Tatton House, (closed until 23 March) for lunch in the open seated courtyard. After lunch we had a look at the Food Shop, Book shop , and Café before setting off again for the walk back along the Beech avenue.
At the end of the walk we went into Knutsford for Tea and cake at the Lovely ‘Tea Room‘ at 73 King Street, before returning home
