Hesketh Park – Just One Thing October 25

Update October 2025 – Since March 2025 Just One Thing has had a fantastic 6 months has been spent working on Hesketh Park Queens Road entrance border. With light gardening tasks being the order of the day.
“More hands make light work” is so true. Please come and join us on Thursday afternoons anytime between 1:30pm and 3:30pm at the
Queens Road entrance.

Opened in 1868, Hesketh Park, our once gracious park with a grand conservatory, floral clock, a unique observatory, fountains and once important meteorological station has become rather tired. The good news is that change is underway. Supported by a generous bequest and the Hesketh Park Heritage Group work has been started to bring our beautiful park back. Undergrowth is being cut back, the waterfall and fountains are running again, the clock is being repaired, makers market stalls will soon appear at weekends and the gardens are being cared for.

Note that all gardening equipment is provided by the Park and if you would like to join the Just One Thing Hesketh Park Group please add your name to the list or just come along or contact Mary from the group page.  Let’s help make our town beautiful.
