Short Walks 1 members pictured below, in front of the Ainsdale Totem on their recent walk through the pinewoods from Freshfield to Ainsdale.
The Ainsdale Totem was carved by Simon Archer from a Corsican Pine that came down during a recent storm. It shows a buzzard, a sand lizard, dune tiger beetle, a natterjack toad and a dedication to the reserve volunteers and was painted by Woodvale & Ainsdale Community Association. It is placed there now to act as a protector of our wildlife. (Quote from Ainsdale Civic Society)
