Our Local History group recently paid a visit to the British Lawnmower Museum on Shakespeare Street. Far from being boring, the group found a lot of fascinating information lurked in the long grass. You may say ‘there is mower to this than meets the eye’!
Look out for an item about the visit in the next newsletter.
Due to the popularity of our Local History group we are in the process of starting a ‘Local History 2’ group. We already have one member who is prepared to help out, but to get the group started we need at least one more. The leaders of the original Local History group, along with our Groups Coordinator, will be giving the new group leaders full support to get them up and running.
If you think that helping to run a group is hard work we are sure you will be pleasantly surprised if you give it a go. It is very satisfying and a good way to meet lots of new people. It is also a good chance to give something back, after all Southport u3a wouldn’t exist if everybody simply sat back and enjoyed what others were organising.
If you would like to get involved with the new group, or any others, please contact our Groups Coordinator via our contact form. If you are not yet a member of Southport u3a you can also use the contact form for general enquiries.
