In 1968 Stanley Kubrick’s ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ was released. It was landmark cinema for many reasons, such as the effects achieved without computer help and the insights into technology that would not arrive for years.
There are breath-taking scenes and it is best viewed in a cinema rather than on video.
I am interested in organising a viewing for us at the Bijou cinema, probably one afternoon. I can even provide an introduction to its history and special qualities.
To make it possible I need to judge the possible audience size so if you assume it will cost between £5 – £10 depending on group size, if you think you might be interested in viewing 2001: A Space Odyssey, please email me via the Meet & Eat group page.
There would of course be the comforts of the Bijou and its bar, etc, and even the possibility of an early dinner afterwards in Southport.
