On Saturday 21st October the Coach Trips group set off on a two-pronged visit. The first was to the Lion Salt Works, which is a restored historic open pan salt making site near Northwich. There we were able to see how the whole operation worked and the impact that salt had on the local economy.
Then it was off to the Anderton Boat Lift, which is a recently restored boat lift originally built in Victorian days by Edwin Clark. Unfortunately, we were unable to take our planned boat trip due to Storm Babet making the waters too dangerous, but we were able to have a good look at the Lift and its Museum.
