For our October meeting we had a talk from local musician Dennis Conroy who entertained us with his memories of time spent in the Cavern Club over sixty five years ago.
He had known and played with the Beatles in their early days and talked us anecdotally through the birth of the Beatles to the phenomenon they became, together with the changes in British music from the Rock and Roll era through to our existing modern musical culture.
Dennis met many famous names along the way, not just in the Cavern Club and had a few juicy tales to tell! He played a few somewhat raw but amazingly original recordings of early Beatles numbers and other local bands familiar to many of our members.
Quite a trip down memory lane for many of us.
